چکیده

CO 2 emissions per capita (Emc) and intensity (Emint) are among the main metrics used to report in environmental studies. The aim of this note is compare evolution Emc Emint G19 countries. Comparing their varying trends useful benchmark analysis. Indeed, our study countries, we offer evidence that such show different for same group countries both at sample individual level. Using a growth curve modeling approach, find has been decreasing while increasing, but slower pace. Further, with high initial have achieved greatest reduction period analyzed, whereas there no change case Emc. We also country’s area affects its growth, not Used together, better insights into performance as measured through these metrics. Causal Simultaneous Relation Between Economic Growth, Health Expenditure and CO2 Emissions in MENA Countries

Introduction: Economic growth is one of the most important goals of a country and has a close relationship with health expenditures and emissions of environmental pollutants. Health expenditures and environmental quality are also among the other important issues. On the one hand, environmental problems have become a serious threat to humankind in recent years. On the other hand, meaningful heal...

The nexus of electricity consumption, economic growth and CO2 emissions in the BRICS countries

This study reexamines the causal link between electricity consumption, economic growth and CO2 emissions in the BRICS countries (i.e., Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) for the period 1990– 2010, using panel causality analysis, accounting for dependency and heterogeneity across countries. Regarding the electricity–GDP nexus, the empirical results support evidence on the feedback h...

Transportation intensity, urbanization, economic growth, and CO2 emissions in the G-20 countries

This paper examines linkages among transportation intensity, the extent of urbanization, CO2 emissions, and economic growth. We use two measures of transportation intensity: (i) per-capita rates of utilization of air-passenger transport facilities and (ii) per-capita rates of utilization of air-freight transport facilities. By studying the G-20 countries over the period 1961e2012 and employing ...

Environment Kuznets curve for CO2 emissions A cointegration analysis for China

This study examines the long-run relationship between carbon emissions and energy consumption, income and foreign trade in the case of China by employing time series data of 1975–2005. In particular the study aims at testing whether environmental Kuznets curve (EKC) relationship between CO2 emissions and per capita real GDP holds in the long run or not. Auto regressive distributed lag (ARDL) me...

Renewable Energy Consumption, Economic Growth and Co2 Emissions: Evidence from Selected Mena Countries

This paper uses panel cointegration techniques to examine the causal relationship between renewable energy consumption, economic growth and CO2 emissions for a group of 12 MENA countries covering the annual period 1975-2008. The Granger-causality results indicate that there is no causal relationship between these variables in short run except a unidirectional causality running from renewable en...
